Our delicious (and important!) work with OpenHive Apiary

Camile Thai is proud to continue its partnership with OpenHive for a third consecutive year, sponsoring hives in Wicklow dedicated to preserving Ireland’s native honey bee, Apis mellifera mellifera. Known as the Irish black bee, this hardy pollinator is uniquely suited to the Irish climate but faces increasing threats from imported bee species, habitat loss, and disease. Our sponsorship supports biodiversity and sustainable food systems by helping maintain pure native bee populations, an effort we believe is essential for the future of our environment and food culture.
To celebrate this partnership and the fruits of the hive, Camile is giving away two jars of our own honey - an extremely limited, single-origin harvest. This honey is intensely floral, complex, and deeply local: a reflection of Ireland’s wild landscape and the native plants that thrive in it. It’s not just rare, it’s two of a kind. Guests can enter to win by following @CamileThai and @OpenHiveHoney on Instagram or TikTok and dropping a pollen emoji in the comments of the giveaway post.
This exclusive honey isn’t just for winning, it’s also a key ingredient in our latest dish special, OpenHiveSweet and Sour. The honey’s rich floral depth brings balance to the tangy sauce, elevating a classic dish with a uniquely Irish touch. Through this collaboration, Camile Thai continues to connect thoughtful sourcing with delicious, feel-good food that supports the health of our guests and our planet.
